Focusing on People, Strategy and Operations
Introduction
I am passionate about people first and foremost, and measure my success by the teams I build and the relationships I develop in my roles. By focusing on the right hiring bar and investing in my team to train them for the broad range of challenges we face today, I've seen success across a range of experiences from early days at Dell, at Amazon in Seller Technology & Category Launches, Direct to Consumer launch & growth at a leading CPG company, and record growth in restaurants for UberEats NA food delivery marketplace.
In terms of focus, I love working with early to mid-stage companies or initiatives accelerating growth while appropriately scaling through people, strategy, and operations. Taking what works in a company's early successes and growing it the right way is exciting.
My experience
I began my career in tech sales at Dell in Austin, TX where I held a series of roles from my early IC days in home and business sales to a Sr. Director role leading a larger organization across Round Rock, Nashville and Oklahoma City. In chasing new challenges and following my curiosities, I have held senior leadership roles in smaller startups to larger business like Amazon and Uber where I fueled my my passion for developing people and driving highly engaged teams through investment in leaders. Today I focus on developing managers through an initiative founded by my wife and I called Manager Material. I believe in investing in managers to drive high engagement in teams can have a huge impact - not just on the business outcomes but in people's lives as we spend so much time in the workplace.
